Lemon, Mint, Honey in hot water for colds

It was that time of the year again in which  almost everyone is getting sick. That after summer rainy season in the country where getting colds is almost inevitable. People in the pharmacy will always get meds for colds and cough or fever. But, this time I want to omit the oral medicines and just go natural. Here is a simple recipe on how to make your Homemade Lemon-Mint-Honey in Hot water. Instead of buying instant teabags that are quite expensive, why don't you just make your own and you can even consume more. Nothing beats the fresh and natural way. This for me is better than the eucalyptus, menthol ointments that you put in your throat and nose  :-)

Here's what you need:

1. Lemon

                                         2. Mint Leaves

3. Honey of your choice. (Organic is better)

4. Hot Water

PROCEDURE:
1. Boil water in your kettle
2. Wash the fresh mint leaves
3. Cut some lemon wedges
4. Squeeze some lemon juice
5. Place the Mint leaves and lemon wedges in a tea container
6. Pour in some hot water
7. Stir in some Honey, i just have like a tip of the spoon
8. Enjoy your drink!

Corn and Carrot Spaghetti with mushrooms

Lately, i keep on experimenting recipes that will fit in my special diet, for some health reasons I am avoiding animal meat for a while, not that I am turning to be a vegetarian because I still have it once in a while, but since I want to be well and still enjoy the foods that i eat, creativity is needed and so I experiment on different recipes. I was craving for a lil' sweet pasta and so this is what i ended up with. Let's start!

INGREDIENTS:
1. Tomato Sauce of your choice
2. Can of Corn Kernel
3. Mushroom
4.Carrot
5. Bell pepper
6. Onion
7. Garlic
8. Cheese
9. Oil
10. Spaghetti pasta
11. Italian Seasoning
12. Salt
13. Pepper

1. Cook Pasta according to package instructions

2. Saute Onion, Garlic, Bell pepper, Corn, Mushroom

3. Pour the Tomato Sauce
4.  Add the Carrots, Italian seasoning, salt, Pepper.

--Simmer for around 3-4mins. I put the Carrots on the last part because i want it crunchy. Make sure to mix it properly when you put the seasonings so that the taste will be balanced. For solid vegetarians, you can always skip the cheese. Instead of instant Tomato sauce, you can also puree your fresh tomatoes.

Enjoy your healthy no meat pasta! A complete healthy meal that is guilt free and enjoyable. Happy eating!
